Christopher Fontenot, M.D.

A native of Opelousas, Dr. Fontenot earned his B. S. in microbiology at LSU, where he was on the Dean's List and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his MD at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship at Charity Hospital and his residency at Ochsner, both in New Orleans. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and National Board of Medical Examiners, and is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Urological Association, American College of Surgeons, Louisiana State Urological Society, American Association of Clinical Urologists, Louisiana State Medical Society and Lafayette Parish Medical Society. He is the recipient of numerous professional honors and was named one of America's Top Physicians in 2003. Dr. Fontenot is one of Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital's Physician Owners.
