Our Vacherie Fuel Bottle Exchange cages are located at independently owned grocery, hardware, and convenience stores throughout the entire South Louisiana region and we are proud to bring the best value to our customers.
Quality Controlled
Every cylinder we receive is refurbished at our Thibodaux, LA facility ensuring each bottle meets quality standards. This entails inspections such as pit depth measurements, leak testing, and upgrading to new overflow protection device (OPD) valves as necessary. Out of date bottles are recertified and documented.
Residential Propane Services
In the late 1930s Leonard Francis Waguespack started Vacherie Fuel to provide homes in rural Vacherie, LA with a reliable fuel source for cooking and heating. That tradition still continues today as we now deliver propane to homes in several of our surrounding parishes. Our certified personnel with the LP gas association install both above and below ground tanks. From a simple 120 gallon “upright” to excavating for a 1000 underground installation, no job is too big or small. We also work with several backup generator distributers to provide and service the bulk LP tanks.
Using propane powered appliances such as water heaters, stoves, and furnaces are more efficient than electricity. We often give this example to reference:
- 1 Gallon of Propane is approximately = 27 kWh (Kilowatt Hours) of electricity – This means that one gallon of propane contains the same amount of usable energy as 27 Kilowatt Hours. 27 kWh will equal approximately 91,500 BTU.
- If a 1000-watt electric stove left on for a full 24-hour day it will consume 24 kWh. If propane were to power the same electric stove for 24 hours, it would use .90 gallons of propane.

Scrap Yard Services
Propane is a cost effective solution for cutting torches over traditional fuels. Customers can lease as much of our tank inventory as needed to support their operation.
